Love is one of the most amazing feelings on this earth – METRO DAIRIES by Namrata
Today we have with us Namrata the author of “METRO DAIRIES” a collection of beautiful love stories that will hold your heart till the last pages. Namrata has a very successful journey as an investment banker, columnist, book blogger, before turning into a fiction writer. The author in her interview shares with us some of her best experiences and memories. Lets find out more about her.
- You have been an eminent part of the publishing industry. Tell us about your journey as an author?
My journey in this publishing industry has been very exciting. I started as a blogger went on to become a book reviewer for some prominent publishing houses. My learning widened a lot at that time as it helped me come out of my shell. I stopped limiting myself to genres and would lap at every book that came to me. It helped me learn a lot of not only world but also about writing and publishing industry.
My journey as a columnist helped me see things from a neutral position. And then when I wrote I got emotionally involved in it.
Today am fortunate enough to work for publishing house as an editor and marketing segment. I am getting to see things differently from here. The amount of research that goes behind every book’s marketing is something I am really enjoying.
Starting with few anthologies because a friend felt I could to this book it has been possible because of the faith the readers of my blog showed in me. As they say faith can move mountains.
From there to here it has been a superb journey. And I don’t know from here to where. All I know is I am loving every moment of what is happening around me. So much to learn!
- Your book, Metro Dairies, has a collection of twenty romantic stories. Which one is closest to your heart?
A very difficult choice. I cannot even choose from my own blog posts. For me they are all pieces of my heart.
- You have so many feathers in your cap, prolific blogger, an editor to various books,a columnist and an investment banker too . What is the most challenging part of being a author?
I think the most challenging part of being an author is you never have a holiday. In your mind there is always something cooking. Even when you are traveling people, places… pictures everything seems like a story.
- Are your planning another book? Tell us something about it.
I am working on yet another collection called letters returned undelivered. A collection of letters written but yes this is not romance 🙂
Metro Diaries part 2 is almost ready. But again even that is not romance this time.
Apart from that I am working on my travel diaries which have short stories ( as small as 100-200 words) with photographs about all the places I have traveled.
I like having multiple things to work upon just to ensure the ghost called writer’s block doesn’t possess me anytime!
- Any advice for the aspiring writer’s?
Read and write. Nothing else helps as much as these two.
