My review :

Is the criminal solely responsible for his crime?

The author, Kritida Gautam, has done full justice to portray Aarush, the main protagonist, in her debut book. She successfully creates a whirlpool of anger, of deprivation, of neglect, of debate, of society’s mindset and much more.So splendidly she deciphered the grey cells of a teenager mind that, as a reader, you start doubting yourself as a contributor in turning an innocent 16 year old into a criminal. Yes ! I don’t mind saying that at all because being a mother and a female I came to this conclusion after finishing the 600-1 pages of the book. As a society we all are responsible in some way or the other. How? For that you have pick up the book. Kirtida Gautam , being a psychologist, narrates the war going on in a teenager’s mind very precisely and how it turns an innocent child into a criminal.

The book  speaks at length  about the loopholes in Indian Juvenile Justice System and how we as a society can bring in a change together. But what I liked most in the book is the author’s attempt to question the first unit of the society, the family.

Recommended for those  who enjoys psychology and social issue based books . The book questions more in terms of parenting and upbringing of a child  which I think is a must read for every parent.
